I hear all the cool kids are shooting 6x47 Lapua.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

You haven't got the memo? Only cool guns are 6.5 creedmor for small and .338 Lapua for large.   I doubt you could hit any targets nowadays with anything else......    8)
:chuckle:  wouldn't even be on the list except the other weekend Bullblaster and I watched a dude getting 2,900 fps out of his.  We called BS but after a few over the magneto we were left speechless.   No pressure signs either.  He was using hornady Superformance powder.

What about the 6x47 Lapua or 6.5x47 Lapua? I know an accuracy nut that swears by this case. Handles pressure really well. Get the right reamer and custom dies and your brass will last many many firings. Small primer pocket....better for  velocity es.

Dont know a whole lot about the calibers you listed. 243 ai would be pretty cool. Shoot some 55gr bt's at 4000+...splat or 105's a 3000+.
more like 115's at 3100 :chuckle:

I think that would be pretty similar trajectory/windage to your 300 wsm...possibly even better. Just lighter bullet.

I wanted a .22-50 BMG AI but apparently it's not a thing :dunno:
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

Karl this is a target rifle? What distance do you want to shoot? do you reload? Do you care about barrel life? Is cost of ammo a concern?

6.5x47l may seem expensive when you buy it for 105 bucks for a 100 but when you equate it out most guys are getting a easy 20 reloads on them and have heard of up to 30 reloads from a couple guys. Fun little cartridge that has good barrel life if you like to shoot a lot and not feel like your cutting into barrel life expectancy while doing it! 130 vlds at 2950 and can shoot it all day. And they just seem to shoot all sorts of loads while being fairly easy to tune

1) Yeah man just a steel ringer.
2) 1,000+ yards.
3) Well Duh!
4) Not terribly important but don't want a real burner either
5) Somewhat.  Mainly just trying to save a few bucks on powder and bullets.  Currently running 105 vld's in my .243 but with a 9 1/4 twist they tend to open up a bit past 800.  Basically just want something new and shiny to play with :chuckle:

Mike at Hells canyon Armory is gonna slap something together.  Thinking Benchmark fluted tube, seekins brake, tikka action, and we are gonna mess with the B&C medalist stock that is on it and see if we can make it work.  If not will probably drop it in mcmillan.  Undecided on glass still.
