6.5x47 lapua
:yeah: or a 6.5x.284

Brass is hard to get and expensive for both of them....
6.5-284 brass is on the shelf at cabelas every time I go in there.... plenty of other places have it as well. Quality brass is never cheap either

I've never, ever seen 6.5x284 brass of any sort, on any shelf, in any store. Or, 6.5x47.

I have no problems finding it

If you don't want a barrel burner, take away all the 6mm's. Especially the Ackleys. I shoot a 6x47 pushing 105's at 3140 and see 1700 rounds to a barrel. Usually go through 3 barrels a year.

You could run 115's out of a 6 SLR or a straight .243 at 3100. Run those numbers compared to a 6.5, they can't be beat when you compared numbers to felt recoil. IF you can find 115's, H1000 or H4831sc are the secret to barrel life.

You could expect a 6.5 Creedmor to push 140's at 2850. If I were to shoot a 6.5 variant it would be a SAUM or 6.5 Addiction (6.5x55 Ackley improved) (6.5 Sweedmoor) and push 140's at 3100. You might get 2500 rounds out of it though.

Anybody running a 6.5-06ai?  It has sparked my interest.  Sounds like some guys are getting 3200 out of 140gr pills  :dunno:

My brother and I have one. He is getting 3220 with 140's and great accuracy out of his. Mine is a little slower but it hasn't been shot much yet. He has a Brux I have a Benchmark. Both on Tikka actions.

I got a bnib vx-6 3-18x50 for $1030 if you're looking for some glass.

I'm thinking about putting a good barrel on my tikka...Is there any truing or anything he does to the action or just put a new barrel on it?

The gunsmith that chambered my brothers and the one that chambered mine said tikka actions don't need to be trued like a Remington. Saves a few hundred using a tikka that way.

Mike's experiences with tikka have been similar.

https://www.howlforwildlife.org/take_action  It takes 10 seconds and it’s free. To easy to make an excuse not to make your voice heard!!!!!!

I assume you're talking about the RBT DTACs. And yes, they're not available anywhere. The Nosler RDF's are new to the market and show promise with a BC significantly higher than Berger 105 Hybrids. Sierra is coming out with 110's that will rival the DTACs, just hope that they're legit and available.
