Take a look at the Trophy Taker rests. Very, very reliable (less internal moving parts than the Ripcord) and pretty reasonably priced. They have a great containment system, are quiet, and to date on both my bow and my partner's, have worked flawlessly for a handful of years. Myself and hunting buddy both had two separate bad experiences with the Ripcords. https://trophytaker.com/collections/arrow-rests/products/smackdown-pro-arrow-rest
I will be getting the ripcord ace micro adjust this coming year. It will make broadhead tuning that much better being able to use the microadjust feature. Amazon has it for around $120.
Quad ultra ! Money
My last bow had a WB. I have a QAD on my current bow and it works. I had one a few years ago on another bow and it failed, jury still out for me. One thing to consider is follow up shots, yes they happen and if they do they have to happen FAST and quiet. The QAD imho is not great for follow ups, doable yes by all means, but not optimum. the arrow just will not stay on the forks as you draw so you would have to nock, then flip the fork up to lock position to hold the arrow then hook release and draw. Completely doable, just something to keep in Mind.
QAD is the best
The Trophy Taker's have s small spring inside that will break. I would look at the QAD, Hamskea or the new AAE Nock On rest.
I have a QAD and Smackdown. Like the QAD more. I'm not a fan of the limb cord.

I just bought a QAD ultra rest HDX yesterday

What did you go with? I have a QAD and Smackdown. Like the QAD more. I'm not a fan of the limb cord.

I just installed a qad hdx on my bow yesterday. It replaced a smackdown. Got a handful of shots with t and am really liking it. It took literally 5 minutes to install and tune. It is noticeably quieter on the shot than my smackdown was.
What's the difference between the HDX and LD? I assume size and weight but can't find that on their website
Quote from: Mossy on February 07, 2017, 05:06:15 PMWhat's the difference between the HDX and LD? I assume size and weight but can't find that on their websiteThe internals are exactly the same and they work the same. Both have the lockdown feature, and both stay up if you let down. The difference is the HDX has the curved capture bar for more vane clearance, and a setscrew in the thumbwheel for micro adjusting the cord. The LD has a longer mounting bar. The micro adjust for the HDX cord is nice and why I pay a little more for it. But if on a budget the LD is a great option. I shot one for years without issues.
