What new tactics are you going to implement this spring?

For starters, I am going to be more adiment about using decoys. I missed the oppertunity to shoot 2 birds last year because they were looking for the source of the call and made a B line right past me out of view
I am also going keep a diaphram call handy for when I switch from my slate/box call to my gun.

Slayer, Stuffer is looking really good! Adding a little blue color in the head will finisher er off nicely. Now where is that field you were talking about that has a flock of 10 mature gobblers?

I am going to put an internet tracking device (Hogan Knows Best Style) on boneaddict's truck and follow him around. Hopefully, he is still using his bow and I can get them just before they get into his range.

turkey slayer..Let me know how your decoy works out...I mounted two last year to try...they got the *censored* screwed out of them...Unreal. Just some helpful tips after using them in the field take clear epoxy with you..in case skin tears...from all of the rough action!

POPE,
I like the stuffer...but I also agree with you..I have killed lots of toms without them. They come in looking..It is great in a brushy area. In the open areas I have had those gobblers hang up and look for that hen...when they don't see it..they move on. You never know what will work. I have tried everyhting in my truck to killl a gobbler and never could...I figure he was Gay or he was a subdominate tom that got his ass kicked when he tried to hook up with Mr. Bigs girl.

I'm 50/50 as well, a few times I have had a gobbler on a string and pop into view and see my decoy and veer off and keep his distance. They are not always helpful for sure!

I've been hunting these damn knuckleheads for about 10 years and not tagged one yet! I've read every book, watched every video, located hot toms, set up, watched them fly down....and leave. I've called the buggers in for other hunters, but never for myself where a shot is taken. I started focusing on shed hunting the last couple years just to take a break from all the frustration.
