New Anti-Elk Weapon for Xmas - Nice Job Santa!
« on: December 22, 2016, 12:43:47 PM »
Merry Xmas to me  ;).  After chewing on which new bow to get for quite some time, I decided to revert to my roots (Darton was my first hunting bow in the mid/late 70s; I also had one in the early 90s) and pull the trigger on Darton Archery's  brand spanking new model, the Maverick II.  It was between the DS-3800 and the new Maverick and the Maverick got the nod.  The Alpine Archery bow is somewhat sad being relegated to the backup role, but, she'll get through it and serve her new position proudly I'm sure.  The Darton won't be shipped for about four weeks (they're getting lotsa orders on the new model).  I did get most of the accessories ordered including a Black Gold sight, TT rest, hunting stabilizer, bow sling, and a bow vise so I can really screw things up ;).  Anxious to get the new stick flinger in and get it set up.  Oh, I ordered the bow in the Typhoon color scheme.

Here's a link if you'd care to take a look at the new bow in Darton's line up.  For those of you who don't know, Darton has been around a looooooooooong time and has been the innovators of many of the cam and limb systems many modern compound bows use.

The Typhoon pattern will work just fine mister.... I just didn't want to bore the elk with say, a plain old carbon black colored bow.  Besides, like you said, Muddy Girl wasn't an option.  :chuckle:

Congrats, post up a photo when you get it all together.  I love the Typhoon color on the website.

Where did you shoot one?

I didn't; its almost impossible to find a pro shop on this side of the big river that isn't solely stocked with the "H, P, M, or B" name brands.  Its just one of those things I had to go for without physically test driving the bow.  I have a pretty good feeling that I'll like it though  ;)

Sure will.  Ya, the new Krytek colors are pretty cool.. only problem is you probably can't find a matching quiver in the same color.  Oh well, I just went with a black quiver and other accessories (black).
