I have a 2008 Acadia. Stay as far away from them as you can. It only has 110,000 miles on it and I've dumped 5 grand into fixing various issues. First one came at 30,000 and it was covered by warranty. Everything about mine is junk. Run run run run run away from the GMC Acadia.
you don't think from 08 till now they have changed? Or you got a lemon?  5 grand since 08 is not that bad?

I actually did a ton of research after posting this thread and it looks like the early Acadias did have some issues up to about 2012. Then after that the reviews are looking pretty good.

We ended up buying a 2015 and so far we love it.   Thanks for all the replies.
So, a year later, how's the Acadia working out?

Curious as well. Looking at the 2018 Acadia or Traverse.

My 2008 is now clunking in the front end after putting $2000.00 into the front end last year. Biggest pile of crap to drive the roads. Less than 130,000 miles and I’m really ready to Shoot it and put it out of my misery.

Politicians like Jay Inslee are the reason we have the 2nd Amendment

No complaints so far, put 22,000 on it with no issues. My wife absolutely loves it. I wish we would have gone with something a little bigger, but its her daily driver not mine.

I work directly with auto shops. They all said stay away the Acadia and Traverse. We went with the Toyota Highlander for the wife and she loves it.

Dad had a 2014 Traverse put right at 100k on it with nothing but normal maintenance. Traded that in and bought a 2017 Traverse Premier and has 35k on it and has not had anything but maintenance. We see alot of vehicles through the shop and the older Traverses and Acadias had their issues but since 2012-12 they have been pretty bullet proof. The older ones have transmission, timing chain, steering rack, etc problems.

That was my understanding also......from everything I researched the older versions had issues and the newer seem to be good to go.
