Island help

So i got two buddies with there archery tags in there pocket and they want to go to orcas and i have no idea how to hunt out there so if I could get some info that would be great.

I'm guessing it will be pretty tough to get a place to hunt this late in the season.  Most of these island folks are pretty tight on their access, let alone for hunting. A lot of landowners have problems with rabbits, I would think rabbit reduction could be a good "in" earlier in the year. The other thing to look for would be gardens or orchards, these are the folks that will likely have a dislike of large numbers of deer.  When approaching these people, I would emphasize the quality meat, local sourcing angle.

If you get permission or you find some land to hunt make sure you stay out until the last legal second of shooting light. I have killed a lot of deer on San Juan Island in the last 5 minutes of shooting light and my morning magic time is 10am. For some reason or another 10am and last light seem to be my best times on the island.
