Should slingshots be allowed for grouse hunting?

Lots of folks don't have guns or bows, so this would open up hunting to more people.  There are guys that would love to use slingshots or airguns.  The organic, hippy crowd seems like they would get into hunting more if something like slingshots were allowed.

Or how about the flung chunk of stick? I know I've killed more with the front spokes on my dirt bike than I have hunting them. SLING AWAY!

You will find that 1/4 inch nuts are aerodynamically amazing. Can't explain why but they do fly better than anything else.

I even to this day use a gravel shoot for convincing stray animals.

I know someone that got a limit of grouse in the pasayten several years ago. He wasn't aware that wrist rockets were illegal for grouse.

Better get your multi-season and sling shot applications in by the 1st. Only $10 to apply and $150 if you draw. That early wrist wrocket season can be amazing.  Cant beat the taste of a rock killed bird. No pellets to bite on either. Just be careful to use good judgement if you're close to private property. They could fly onto the private after you shoot. Your fault if they do that. Also dont forget to get your wrist rocket endorsement. You need a different one for state land and one for forest service. You can also get one for shooting from a vehicle if you're lucky enough to draw. Good luck!

I'd like to see sling shots legal for all small game personally. I used to make a few bucks in Oregon killing Nutria, the state would give you like $3 for each one you killed (because the are an invasive species that spreads disease and also causes massive amounts of river erosion.) With a steel marble and a well placed shot you'd have no issue taking down small game here in Wa. As it is, it's illegal so I wont do it. Seems silly though that as long as I have my deer tag I can legally shoot a grouse with my .308 but not a sling shot. Maybe just my opinion.

For most the odds of hitting one and even wounding it let alone killing it are so low that I doubt harvest would be even double digits.

Shooting a slingshot proficiently takes a lot of practice or some serious natural talent.  What percentage would take the time to become consistent?

I can hit a pop can at 20-30 yds all day long with a wrist rocket, some people just have skills.

Those raised as kids in the country prior to 1980 probably had lots of practice.  Those raised on Xbox and Nintendo might lack the experience.
