I've had dogs and deer and me and my partners step on colony traps and I usually trip over at least one beaver cage  every year. Had beaver push rat colonies out of their way. It's just stuff that we experience every year.

There is civets at several of my cat sets so I put out a skunk tube yesterday and was awarded with stinker this morning. Smell was actually very minimal thanks to using CO2.

I put it in a spot that is actually a crossing for elk but it's also a perfect spot to set a trap between two deep sections of that Creek. I new it was a possibility it could be stepped on right there but figured it was worth chancing it. Its where I got the biggest beaver so far. No one to blame but myself.

If you used CO2, why does that civet look wet?

I used co2 to gas him to where he was barely breathing and then just put water in the tube to finish him. My co2 tank ran out of air when he was damn near dead. I have to head in and get a new tank on Monday.

Finally got another beaver in the problem area I've been going after since November. I tore the dam up and put four swim thrus side by side above the break a week ago. I checked all my cat sets plus the swim thrus yesterday and there was nothing but for the way the weather was last night and this morning I knew beavers would be active. This one weighed exactly 50 lbs.
More meat for the freezer!
