Silver Drake Mallard
« on: December 26, 2016, 09:48:12 PM »
I have had an incredible year hunting and the last two duck hunts (Christmas Eve and today) where incredible. Over 160 birds shot (ducks and geese) in our group on two hunts Well I hammered a silver drake mallard and I can't wait to get it mounted. Has anybody else ever gotten one on here?

It looks identical to this one. Anyway, I'm stoked I shot it!

Thats really cool
Maturity is when you have the power to destroy someone who did you wrong but instead you breathe, walk away, and let life take care of them.

Cool looking bird, congrats! Do you already have a taxidermist? If you're needing one, I'd recommend talking to Leon Mathews in Kennewick, he does great work.

Shot a hen bluebill the other day with dark green/blue head. More hen than drake but definitely different looking.

I shot one last year on a flooded timber hunt.

We have shot a few similar to this over the years.  I took a few pictures, I will have to dig them up.  If I mounted all the weird or hybrid variations I have shot over the years, I would have a freak show of dust collectors.  :chuckle:
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

Awesome bird! I hear you on that, I've been waterfowling for quite a few years and the only birds I have wanted to mount have been in the last two years. I have a bull can, a red head, and now this this I am going to do a nice dead mount with all three together.
