Wifey mad at Kuiu
« on: January 07, 2017, 10:01:52 AM »
Ohhh man, the ol' lady is not happy with Kuiu. She's been hoping for a ladies line for quite a while. Not to mention that has been her go-to for most of my recent birthdays and such, which I don't mind a bit. Looks like she may be boycotting them now  :bash:

I can see why he doesn't want to make clothes for fat people, but I don't see why he won't make clothes for women. They're the fastest growing segment of new hunters & he's missing a market opportunity, I think.

Believe me,"my better half" cornered Jason on a recent trip to her place of employment about Kuiu and lack of accommodation to the woman hunter. They had a very good discussion about it and she accepted his reasoning and continues to be happy wearing the current men's line. Kuiu can cover there entire line of mens clothing with a third of the sizes it would take to cover a womans line. As for me Im sticking with sitka for now.

I totally understand his reasoning, I'm just surprised he said it like that.

I don't know that hes the kind of guy to sugar coat anything lmao, I respect the guy hes created a great product designed around mountain hunting. How many chubby and fat guys do you see climbing a 12k' peak after a ram or billy? Im a chubby guy and hunt hunt my ass off and I dont take offense to what he said. I can really tell you his clothes dont fit chubby guys I have tried to make them work his clothing line is closer to European sizes than US too.

I'm surprised Sitka doesn't already have women's clothes.

I'm a fat guy... :chuckle: :chuckle: and kuiu will never get my business after that comment.  Obviously not very business savvy.  Sometimes better to just keep your mouth shut.  I actually can wear their stuff but won't now....  You don't have to be hiking 12,000 ft peaks on goat hunts to wear quality clothing.  I will still k with my sitka!!

He's got plenty of customers as is, don't think he cares. I like his attitude, don't like it don't buy it, pretty simple :dunno:

I don't care for the guy (I do love his clothes), but I think he is very business savvy. His company has more than doubled in size each year. He does it with no investors, or he could be growing even faster.

He just wants profit, he couldn't have the same margin of profit with a womans line....he's a business man....but it's very interesting to word it they way he did....women can't be inspirational I guess ?  :dunno:

Would you rather have womens line and pay $200 for the attack pants or leave it as is?
