why does it have to be gender specific is all i have on this.My wife wears the same stuff as me in kuiu.what some wont wear it if it doesn't have pink?what on it says man anyway?

Because women are  built completely different. Hips, waist, chest are all different in clothing built for a women. That's why gender specific.

PathfinderJR met the co-owner of Kuiu last August in the Seattle Airport on the way home after our Alaska caribou hunt.  They talked for almost an hour.  He told him the same thing; We don't make clothes for women.  Basically, his philosophy is that the men's sizes they make will cover most women that want to buy Kuiu.  For them to offer a full range of the sizes/shapes that would allow him to claim a "women's line" would be too costly.
For what it's worth, the guy we met was pretty plain spoken and blunt.  My son (who is a high school senior) said that he was applying for Army ROTC Scholarships and wanted to major in business.  Asked what his chances were of being hired to work for a company like Kuiu straight out of college with a business marketing degree.  They guy told him "Zero chance.  Do ROTC, be an Army officer, go Ranger or Special Forces, serve a few years.  Then we'll talk.  We don't hire wusses."

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Ohhh man, the ol' lady is not happy with Kuiu. She's been hoping for a ladies line for quite a while. Not to mention that has been her go-to for most of my recent birthdays and such, which I don't mind a bit. Looks like she may be boycotting them now  :bash:

If I called my wife "the ol lady" she would be boycotting me.  :chuckle:

Kuiu can't keep regular sizes in stock let alone women's sizes. Plus, the way they size things, I doubt a single woman would buy a size 6 that actually fits when they are a size 4.

Didn't like their products to begin with butcomments like that will motivate me to advise people away from purchasing their products.  It shows no respect for their customers or possible customers.  He could of said it a lot different then he did and got the point across with out sounding like a rich d-bag.

Well you cant make everyone happy. I happen to love their products but then I don't like Sitka.

Lol. Does he want women to aspire to be men?

The guy is abrasive and his business model is maddening. Great warranty service though.

I don't care for their European sizing, but like their clothes overall. What he said is dumb for business though. I do wonder what his background is with his wusses comment.

Being a mountain of a man or a man of the mountain, I don't give a rip about Kuiu.

Check out First Lite - here's what they say about their women's pant.

"It's about time somebody made a women's hunting pant that left nothing to chance. Made from the same nylon (not polyester) materials and construction as our popular Corrugate Guide Pant, the Alturas women's pant is built to endure season after season while providing an athletic fit that lets you be both fast and quiet. Unlike other women's hunting pants, the Alturas takes every component that we created in our men's pants and simply applies it to pants cut for a woman, plain and simple."

too often women's versions of hunting clothes and boots are made cheaper with ornamental rather than technical materials

Everybody know that it's virtually impossible to kill a animal nowadays if you don't have an entire clothing package (AKA system) from one specific brand...complete with layering, gaitors and a bino case all from the same brand. I reckon the fat guys and womenfolk will just have to shop elsewhere for their "system" :(
