Check out First Lite - here's what they say about their women's pant.

"It's about time somebody made a women's hunting pant that left nothing to chance. Made from the same nylon (not polyester) materials and construction as our popular Corrugate Guide Pant, the Alturas women's pant is built to endure season after season while providing an athletic fit that lets you be both fast and quiet. Unlike other women's hunting pants, the Alturas takes every component that we created in our men's pants and simply applies it to pants cut for a woman, plain and simple."

http://www.firstlite.com/alturas-pants.html

too often women's versions of hunting clothes and boots are made cheaper with ornamental rather than technical materials
Where is it made I have been all over there web site and it does not say ?

I believe China just like all the other makers of performance camo...

I find his comments refreshing.

He has a target market and he's staying in his lane.

Though I don't necessarily agree with his way of thinking, I  like that he is who he is and he isn't real concerned about being PC. Far too much of that in this world.    I'm the kind of person that believes an honest question deserves an honest answer. If that's how he feels, then he should tell it how it is.   To some degree, I think his arrogant, elitist attitude is what makes his products  so good.   He's a hard-core guy, and his products are designed for hard-core guys.  He wants his stuff to be the best and will not compromise his standards.  He's a quality over quantity kind of guy and wants to maintain complete control of  everything associated with his product.  I have a lot of Sitka gear and a lot kuiu gear and find both to be excellent.  Sitka's  customer service and warranty are impeccable.  I have had a few issues with the zippers on their rain gear , and they have always went above and beyond to fix the problem for me.  I cannot yet evaluate kuiu in this regard, because none of their products have ever failed me.    It is not hard to see that Kuiu is designed by hardcore hunters That actually wear the stuff and design it accordingly.  The devil is in the details on good hunting gear and they don't miss much.

:yeah:There are a few items I have returned either due to a fit or other issue (pack buckle sewed on backwards). They took care of me without question. I will continue to buy their clothing because of their CS. I've never met Jason but I can't fault him for the way he does business. It obviously works. He has a business with great employees and they do their best to take care of everyone. With all the media BS out there who knows if that comment is how he really said it or meant it.

I don't care if Kuiu doesn't want to make a line for women or fat guys, it's his business. I like their gear and will keep buying it. My wife will wear something else.

I wear Kuiu almost everyday, I live in that gear. Really like their athletic fit, sitka and firstlite are great brands too but don't fit as well  :twocents:

coming from a "fat guy" i sincerely appreciate the honesty of the guy. I really like his stuff and wish i could wear it but as of right now im a "fat guy" and it wont fit me, however, there is a very easy solution. either get in shape enough to wear his clothes or choose another brand. right now i have to wear sitka cause of my size, hopefully by this fall i will have put in enough hours in the gym to fit into kuiu, if not ill stick with sitka and first lite

Everybody know that it's virtually impossible to kill a animal nowadays if you don't have an entire clothing package (AKA system) from one specific brand...complete with layering, gaitors and a bino case all from the same brand. I reckon the fat guys and womenfolk will just have to shop elsewhere for their "system" :(

Aspirational brand?  So the large backcountry guys that carry a bunch of fat around the midsection who walk all over guys with single digit body fat are lessor and they are not ones to create aspiration.  Crazy.

Those female hunters don't create aspiration either?  Crazy.

And skinny guys won't "look good" in them?  Oh my.

It's a TIKKA thing..., you may not understand.

why does it have to be gender specific is all i have on this.My wife wears the same stuff as me in kuiu.what some wont wear it if it doesn't have pink?what on it says man anyway?

Because women are  built completely different. Hips, waist, chest are all different in clothing built for a women. That's why gender specific.

Jason didn't come off to well in his comments
This is true women are built different.Guys are not all the same either but we seem to do just fine with it now don't we?His honesty and gear are great in my opinion. My wife looks pretty good in it as well.

Does everybody realize that this thread is in the "backcountry hunting" section? Kuiu is not designed for road hunting, day hunts, or hunting out of a blind or stand. It is designed for mountain hunters, people that carry their gear on their back for several days at a time, miles from any road. For those that have used this stuff for its intended use, you know it works. Its not necessary, but it sure makes minimalist hunting deep in the backcountry, a whole lot more comfortable.

I've killed a lot of animals without kuiu, I will continue to do so without it. Personally, he sounds like an A&$h@@"). I won't support his brand, but I will continue to be a successful hunter.

Never could dunk in Nikes and couldn't dunk in LA Gears. So I bought LA Gears and with the leftovers bought a hoop that could be lowered.

His comments don't bother me. He is a dang good marketer.  :twocents:
