Everything I have owned in Sitka is falling apart! and everything I own in KUIU is perfect to this day and I wear the crap out of my stuff! Im on 4 pairs of Sitka acsents now..stitching falling out of them in weeks. Don't get me started with what I think of Gore tex.

Ill continue to buy KUIU and good for him and his comments and staying the course of HIS business...Hes not hurting for business.

I do have to ask, why do you guys where camo when your not hunting?

I don't care for their European sizing, but like their clothes overall. What he said is dumb for business though. I do wonder what his background is with his wusses comment.

Taco, I was wondering too. What Is considered a wuss in the military... besides the coastguard of course;)

where did I say I was wearing camo when not hunting?  I wear my Sitka ascent pants when scouting or hiking due to comfort, I wear my Rain gear fishing due to the fact if its raining Ill wear my rain gear.

It was a general question and you do realize Jason used to be a head hancho with Sitka? So are Sitka and kuiu one or are kuiu and Sitka one?

Never could dunk in Nikes and couldn't dunk in LA Gears. So I bought LA Gears and with the leftovers bought a hoop that could be lowered.

His comments don't bother me. He is a dang good marketer.  :twocents:

That's good stuff right there!  :chuckle:

Have you tested their stuff?  Just Curious.  What issues have you had?

I love it,  Very durable, and comfortable.
The fit and function is exactly what they say it is.

PathfinderJR met the co-owner of Kuiu last August in the Seattle Airport on the way home after our Alaska caribou hunt.  They talked for almost an hour.  He told him the same thing; We don't make clothes for women.  Basically, his philosophy is that the men's sizes they make will cover most women that want to buy Kuiu.  For them to offer a full range of the sizes/shapes that would allow him to claim a "women's line" would be too costly.
For what it's worth, the guy we met was pretty plain spoken and blunt.  My son (who is a high school senior) said that he was applying for Army ROTC Scholarships and wanted to major in business.  Asked what his chances were of being hired to work for a company like Kuiu straight out of college with a business marketing degree.  They guy told him "Zero chance.  Do ROTC, be an Army officer, go Ranger or Special Forces, serve a few years.  Then we'll talk.  We don't hire wusses."

Wow.  Makes we want to switch to First Lite.

And I don't understand the 'added costs of making women's line'.  I understand the design and r&d around perfecting clothing fitted to women's figures, and also the challenge because women's bodies vary much more than men's bodies.

I understand his reasoning and honestly what he said doesn't really bother me, although my wife and a few of her friends sure were peeved by it. There are more and more hard hunting women out there every year though. Hell my better half has packed her last 2 deer for a combined distance of 23 miles one way. Most of our hunting is ultra light back country hunting, and she does have problems finding good gear that fits her right (little waist with a badonk-a-donk). But he's smart to stay within his niche. I'll add this photo just for irony  :chuckle:

LOL, what a tool. He's made some great gear for serious hunters and has a stout business, but his personality and several actions have me turned off. Unless a piece of his gear is superior to another brand, I'll pass. :twocents:
