.22 pistol.

I'm thinking about picking up a .22 pistol. I have a ruger single-six, a mkII target and a Taurus 94. I'm thinking about one of the semi auto's that compare to 9mm counterparts. I.e. Ruger sr22, walther p22, s&w m&p, bersa thunder. Anyone have an opinion or experience?

Most of the 22s that are mini center fire guns suck as 22s. Bad triggers and poor quality make for a marginal plinker at best.
Of the one you listed the only one I've  OK reports of it the SR 22.
What about a buckmark?

I really liked my Walther P-22. Ran like a champ and shot pretty well.

I have a sr22 and like it.  Only had a few months.  I find that it is accurate.  Real limitation on accuracy is me.  Trigger could be better.  Also have an old Mark 1.  Not the most accurate.  still fun to plink with.

Ruger just came out with the mark IV. I have the Hunter model and love it. Breaks down in 2 seconds with one button and has functioned flawless besides a couple ammo quality malfuntions through over 1500 rounds. They make the mark IV 22/45 lite as well which may suit what you're looking for. There's a black one if you scroll down the link.

I picked up a M&P Compact 22 awhile back and it has run flawless with everything I've ever fed it.  The Ruger SR22 is another one that'll eat just about anything and everything you throw at it.  For me, the M&P Compact 22 just feels really good in my hands.

I really like the ruger but the safety is backwards from most other autos. I really like the walther but red it has a zinc alloy slide.

I have this in 3" adj sight model Smith Airlight J Frame.  It is GTG.  I also sometimes snap the 5" sport barrel on my Smith 41 and carry it n a holster or a Model 17 Smith or my Colt Frontier Scout.  But the little Smith Airlight is most convenient and usually I don't need a larger hand gun.

That Colt needs some good G10 grips on there. Nobody has wood grips these days.

I don't even know where to start on the High Standard. That thing looks like it's been through a war!

I have a 1911 platform SIG in .22 it's super fun to shoot. Looks like a .45 and you hear pew pew pew.

I've heard the M&P .22's are great. that being said I'm looing at the S&W22 Victory with a treaded barrel. in my experiences the guns specifically made to be a .22 are more reliable than the guns that were basically scaled down full size guns. just my
