K2000 exo mountain
« on: January 08, 2017, 07:41:50 PM »
Anyone have/try out this newer eco mountain k2000 day pack? I currently have an icon pro 1850 (with no issues) but am intrigued by this exo mountain pack. May have to give it a try (solely because I love hunting gear).

Any reviews would be great. Especially anyone who has used the kuiu icon pro vs the exo mountain frame at least.

Thanks!

I have the Exo 2000 bag and 3500 bag and love them both. Before I bought the 2000 bag I was using an icon pro 1850 without a frame for my daypack. The Exo rides better and the pockets are more thought out and user friendly. I packed out two blacktail this year between the frame and bag and they rode well. I've packed out 6 blacktails with exos the last two years( I have a 2014 I'm currently selling and a new 2016) with the 2000 it doesn't come with the lid but you really don't need it. I think you can add it for another $30.

2000 bag with 4 quarters between the frame and bag. I was in hurry trying to beat the tide in so it doesn't loom pretty but it rides well

And here it is without any meat

Had both and went with the Kuiu just because I like a very light streamlined day pack.  The Exo bag and straps are just bulkier and beefier than I needed.  But Im using the light ultra bag on the Icon frame also and there is not quite as much difference with the Icon pro bag which uses heavier cordura like the Exo.  I felt the Exo could use a little beefier hip belt.  I also preferred the carbon fiber frame on the kuiu but the decision between the two was so close the camo color options come into play.

Thanks for all the input. I'm still on the fence about it. I may try and order an exo, and see which one I like better.

I have the EXO K2 frame and 3500 bag.  It is totally awesome.  If you are only going to buy one buy the 3500.  Otherwise the 2000 and 5500 would make a perfect pair IMO.

I really want to give the Exo a try. But I think for this year I'll probably end up sticking with my kuiu. As I have the 1850, and am planning a backpack hunt in which I'd buy just one of the larger kuiu bags. That way I'd have both sizes.

If I were to start from scratch with Exo, if need both bags and would be up to 700$ as opposed to a 200$ kuiu bag. And I want a spotting scope. Such a dilemma. First world problems
