I've been shooting my HCA Carbon a lot the last few weeks and one thing I've noticed is how fast it disapates heat. Ill get a good string of rounds down the pipe and I'll get some pretty good heat wave for a few seconds and then gone!  Makes load developement and trajectory validation pretty nice.

Lmao! Patience is a virtue....  at least thats what I'm told!  You're action will be here in about a month, everything else is a bit on the slow side but it's cold out and you don't want to be shooting outside anyways! :)

I bet Brad knows his stuff.
If BLRman recommends you I bet you do too.

The Loomis name was the bench mark of quality in graphite rods for years.
Trend setters back when I had them build my first one in 1984.

I was just being a wise azz because I've owned many Loomis products.

We've come a long way with our barrels and Brad is definitely a mad scientist when it comes to composites! It's been good bringing in the knowledge from my side of rifles and combining it with his knowledge of composites. I've got some barrels going out to a company right now for testing to see if we can maybe start to up our volume capability. Each barrel is wrapped by hand and it's extremely time consuming but  the materials require it. Got some things in the works to help out with that but no timeline on it yet.

Btw I just finished up this 28 Nosler a this morning.... did all the work myself and everything! 😂

That is a nice looking gun but the broom finish on that concrete slab could have waited another 20 minutes.

I've tested a few barrels he wrapped for me several years ago. Nice for a light, stiff barrel. Wasn't impressed with high volumn/high heat results, but no carbon can handle what we put them thru 👍

Good to hear! We've changed up the composites a bit I imagine since then. Customer of mine put down a sub MOA 20 shot group through his 280AI with my barrel, not bad taking into account shooter variables and he shoots off a bench and front sand bag.   I'll typically see a gun that shoots in the low .3's open up to about 3/4MOA after 10-15 shots but then they hold good. Carbon isn't the only material in my barrels...

Weatherby Mark V or Arroyo : 8.5# any caliber.  1 moa. $2500
Fierce Rifles 1 moa carbon barrel: $3,000
Christensen Rogue or Classic 2 carbon barrel - 1 moa $3,000

But to goto .5 moa = twice as much

Custom = .5 moa @ $4,000+

Fierce is guaranteeing .5 moa, I've been considering one of their guns, they really fit well when you shoulder them. I've heard they are behind in production, you are better off buying a rifle that's in stock rather than ordering one.

Me, sloan kettering, johhny hopkins, and brad loomis were hitting that stuff up everyday, if he comes at me ill drop a..... weird convo for sure.. anyhow another positive recommendation for Mike on my part, I have a 280 AI built by him with a first generation of his carbon barrel.  Slightly heavier than his current ones i believe since he switched up some details with the resin during the manufacturing process.  (May be mistaken)  I took a chance being the first to use one of his carbon barrels and was a little skeptical as many are so I ran the barrel hard after break in to see what it could do.  Groups opened up from about 1/2 moa to just about moa after 17-20 consecutive shots.  I believe his rifles are only getting better.
