Walla Walla Wolf

I heard the WDFW witnessed wolves kill a cow elk up Mill Creek.  Rumor is they watched it happen from Scenic Loop and called, warning some creek residents.

shouldn't be news to anyone, the Wenaha dogs go back and forth, think about it, not a bad place to be, as far as minimal human presence.

Should I assume all of the local cattle/sheep/horse guys have been told?  Two feet plus of snow there right now, sheep would be like picking tomatoes

he's the one i heard it from first.  He heard it from Brooks.  then i heard it from my sister, who has become friends with the person saying the WDFW called them.  That person lives in the house near the bottom of the old man's driveway.

Camped in a hammock at mcbain springs in the Weneha this summer. 3:00AM a long eary wolf howl, 3:30 about 20 head of elk walked by 20 feet away single file, and 4:00AM a black bear was pulling apart logs 50 yards away. I felt like a burrito at just the right height for critters. Saw all the wolf tracks I could ever want to see when the sun came up about 500 yards away from camp on the trail. A good friend has a picture of a wolf from last deer season but he won't tell me where he was (secret hunting area) I'm pretty sure it's over by tucannon. It's definitely getting common to spot them dang it

That must have been a fun night! I've never had wolves that close but had a cool experience 35 years ago w two bears rolling around right next to my hammock in Ontario. I had no idea they were there but my buddy's who was in the tent watching them  was sh*tting bricks. Told me the next morning he thought about cutting through the back of the tent and making a run for it!

pretty close to town then :yike:
A couple of years ago heard there were a few killing sheep just outside of Weston so that's close too.
"When my bow falls, so shall the world. When me heart ceases to pump blood to my body, it will all come crashing down. As a hunter, we are bound by duty, nay, bound by our very soul to this world. When a hunter dies we feel it, we sense it, and the world trembles with sorrow. When I die, so shall the world, from the shock of loosing such a great part of ones soul." Ezekiel, Okeanos Hunter
