Homemade game calls
« on: January 12, 2017, 12:16:15 PM »
My wife bought be a wood lathe for Christmas this year and I am going to attempt to make my first homemade elk call this weekend. I have watched hours of YouTube videos and have all the call making supplies in hand. Going to start with elk open reed calls and then go to predator, deer grunt, and turkey glass call.

Let's see some of those homemade calls that you have made.

I'll hopefully add some pics this weekend.

Any advise for a new game call wood turner?

And the addiction begins!

Few flaws but with a little more practice I think they'll look pretty good.

Nice looking calls !     I bet you could get some ideas off knife handle supply places too - laminated wood pieces, veneers etc.
