Late Season Archery Mule Deer with Tanglewood Guides VIDEO
« on: January 13, 2017, 09:26:32 AM »
Me and Oren had been talking about this hunt for probably 5 years before I was finally able to make it over to hunt with him. At first I was a little hesitant as the hunt wasn't my normal "style" of hunting.

This turned out to be an awesome hunt with some great guys. After I killed my buck I also got to hang out and film, help and see the work that Oren puts in to his operation.  The hours of sleep were short but the experience was awesome.

Here is the video I put together of the hunt.

Great video. That second kill shot surprised me. I've hit a few deer right in that low back position and the arrow has never failed to puncture at least one lung (and bring down the animal is relatively short order). I have speculated that it may have to do with whether the animal is exhaling when that area is hit--and thus maybe it could miss the lung because it's contracted. Nice work you two!

Yeah we figured with the angle he would have caught something fatal. He would have died eventually but 2 hours wasn't enough.
