Teacherman,

Check online for the powder, it is available, you just have to pay hazardous shipping on it.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

I finally found some 4350 last night. I am so stoked.  :IBCOOL: And wondering if you can replace small rifle primers with small magnum pistol primers, or if it would be better just to use large rifle primers.

Some people spend their entire life wondering if they made a difference. Marines don't have that problem.

may I ask why, doesnt seem like there is much difference in the small primers. I use pistol powder in my small rifles anyway. I have never tried but I was asking because I read it, I think in the speers book a while back.

Im too chickend to try stuff like that lol.  It would have to be in a Speers or other reloading manual for me to try it.  I value being able to pick my nose with my fingers lol.  I wont do it, and I wouldnt recommend anyone else do it unless its written and tested by a manual.  I never use info off the web either unless its off the manual or manufacturers website.

I saw a post on here where someone told the other person to put in x amount of powder, then do something else, then fill it the rest of the way up with powder.  THey meant fillthe rest of the way up with corn meal or filler, but made a type.  That could have been a costly typo if you were reading the instructions.

Dont want to sound likea wanker but safety rules are there for a reason, so are the reloading data guidelines.  If I had to do it for whatever reason Id be a little nervous at first, it might be alright but I am not the one to test stuff like that out.  Ive shot mag primers in my standard 38 loads but I didnt go to max to do it to start with.  I was a little nervous.  It was no big deal on that one.  I would suppose that it would depend on the max and how close you may be to the lower or upper end of the min and max.

:IBCOOL: I finally found some magnum rifle primers today. Still no luck with 4350. not much anywhere in the country.

Kesselrings had 18 - 1lb cans of H4350 on Sat...and HAD 6 - 1lb cans of IMR 4350.  but they were kinda skinny on stuff too.
