Encore, yeah, I don't know what happened to her. She has a split ear and a completely dislocated left hip. She walks on three legs, holding the other one up. Maybe a vehicle strike?

I'm amazed she made it to the feeding station... she's probably safe in the herd there for now, but there are rumors of wolves in the area (I'm fairly certain I've seen a track myself) so I doubt she'll make it through the spring.
"master" hunter - still a noob.

This is the third year she has been at the feeding station.

Nice pics. There are quote a few sick and injured elk that migrate down every year. Go for a hike up oak creek and you'll see all the dead ones.

Do the wolves feed on the dead ones at all rather than running them down and killing?

I think I know that bull, OutHouse. I watched a big 8x9 (I think) feeding with some cows on the hill opposite Cowiche Mill Rd a couple weeks before rifle season. I guess he's luckier than the guys who managed to draw a tag for him :).

I wouldn't be surprised if it is the same animal. It's kind of nice to know that he survived the season, but I also feel for the guy who drew a tag and didn't fill it. Shoot, I know a guy who drew big bull in Cowiche twice within 5 years of each other on a small number of points. Some guys have all the luck!
real dark horned bull? I'm pretty sure he ran ran me at about 100 yards during the general season out there on opening day. It's a wonder he didn't get smacked.

You know I was too far away to tell but he was a big nasty for sure!
