Vortex Optics Page Re-Vamped!

 Hey guys, I thought I'd up-date all that have shown interest or are interested in the Vortex line. Our website has up-dated this page with all pricing clearly posted & all Optics easily seen at the click of a finger tip! It should make it much easier to scan any & all products.
  You might want to take a look at the new Razor HD Spotter, it's been at the Sports Shows & has caught many's attention. I have not physically seen one yet but it is said to rival or surpass the European models! I for one would love seeing it in my hands.  It's cost is 1599.00 it had better be good! (grin)

  The Diamondbacks for 09 have been improved upon & now are what the 08 Vipers were like. Of course the Vipers have taken a step forward as well especially noticed in low light to no light conditions! Please feel free to check out the changes & the pricing all right there!

I've always had good luck with Vortex binoculars.  I have the 6.5x32 Fury and 10x42 Viper right now.  I've got a 7x36 Diamondback pre-ordered as well as the 6.5x32 Raptor porro.  I expect they will be nice but I don't expect them to be able to handle my Swift Eaglet 7x36. They would have really had my attention with a 7x32 Viper.  I have looked at the 8x32 Viper and it is good stuff.

 Steve, you own more product than myself!! (grin) I have Viper 10X42--Fury 8X32--Viper 15X50--Skyline ED 20-60X80 Spotter. I love those 8X32 for turkey hunting & elk hunting the thick stuff, they work great & are very clear & bright!

How does that 15x50 Viper stack up for tripod "Big Eyes" style use?  The 10x really does not show me any more than an 8x for me to consider it a valid improvement.  There just isn't enough glass in a 12x42 for my taste in 12x and over.  The Swaro 15x56 is too blasted expensive for the amount of use I would give it.  So, I've been looking at the Viper 15x50 or the Minox 13x56.  I've seen both, but not had a chance to work either one properly.

  steve--That's funny about your observation between 8X & 10X, you're the 1st guy I think has mentioned that. I personally can tell a big difference as distance comes into play! But 8's are tough to beat inside 3/4 mile! Use what works for you! (grin)

 The Vipers 15X50 are strictly for tripod use for me. They are very small & sleek for a powerful bino, that's what drew them to me. It's tough to hand hold a high magnification Optic & stay steady. They are awesome for sure & really pass any 10x42 in comparison to drawing an object right on top of you & very clear at that! I still have a spotter for sizing critters up at longer distances but the 15X50 gets the nod on distance hunts over the 10X42. I've not compared the 15X50 to any other Optic of high magnification. On the same topic you guys were discussing, I got a new set of the 15x50 Vipers and they work great.  You can tell they are substantially more powerful in magnification than the 10x42's.  Accordingly, you get more magnification issues.  I did have more success with them on a tripod but they are substantially better than my 10x42 when trying to spot sheep and deer at distance.  I can just see more detail.  However, when I need to zoom in on the animal to see how much curl or what the antler configuration is it's just not enough magnification at distance.  I think I'm going to sell these and pick up a Nomad or Skyline spotter.  I might keep them if I don't get a good offer on them in the classifieds because I do carry a tripod a lot for my photo gear and can use it on the tripod.  I did notice I was able to spot sheep at distance much easier with the 15x50 than I could with my 10x42.  I think I need to take them out and try them a few more times before deciding to unload them.  I just didn't want to have to carry a tripod while out hunting but if I'm getting a spotter I'll have to anyways....  Decisions decisions...

If anyone wants to take them out and try them I'm in the Bellevue area.  They are really compact for a 15x50.  You can hardly tell the difference between my 10x42 and the 15x50.

 I hear ya! 15x50 do not replace Spotting Scopes, not even close to me! A spotter is a necessary piece of equipment in addition to a set of binos for sizing critters up!! They will best 10X42 as you've seen. I love my 15X50 & wouldn't give them up but I also use a Spotter! (grin)

I haven't tried my 15x50 but I have the 10x42 and it works fine.  They are about the same size so I wouldn't anticipate issues.  I just don't like to hand hold the 15x50 so carrying them on a vest or anywhere without a tripod is probably out for me.
