I've been reloading for bolt action rifles for several years but this is my first attempt at loading for semi-auto rifles. My rifle is a Sig Sauer 716 Patrol.
I loaded Berger 175 OTM at a OAL of 2.80" behind 42 - 44 grains of Varget in 0.5 grain increments.
I got better than expected accuracy, the 42 grain load clover-leafed at 100 yards. As I increased in velocity the accuracy degraded but still didn't suck. So the good news is I think I'm onto a winner.
I noticed that all of my brass has a ding about mid-way down the case. It would follow that this is where the brass hits the ejector. My question, is this dent in the case a sign that I may be over-pressure or is this perfectly normal?
