February 10th and still not able to submit apps. I called the 24 hour licensing customer service and they had absolutely no explanation as to why. Of course they want me to call the main office Mon - Fri so they can get back to their cribbage game.
I wonder how much this new fabulous system is costing us (YOU and ME), and how many man hours are being spent to fix this new system that never worked to begin with. I can't help but think that it's deep inside $6 figures, possibly $7 figures. I also heard that waves of people made the journey to Grays Harbor to dig razor clams, but the local vendors licensing systems were down.
It's clear to see why they tried to raise the license fees while taking away more opportunities. They gotta pay for this system somehow.
I'm sure glad Idaho Fish and Game came to the sportsman's show to do the DIY deer and elk hunting seminars. Kinda sounds appealing!

This has been confusing to say the least...

The most concrete info I've found is here: http://wdfw.wa.gov/news/jan2417a/

"Spring bear hunters hoping to draw a permit for 2017 can purchase their application now, and will be able to submit for their preferred hunt choice online from Feb. 15 through midnight, Feb. 28. The spring bear drawing will occur in early March."

I've marked my calendar for the 15th. Hope this helps others.

I checked yesterday and you still can't submit bear or MS permits.  Typical wdfw, they'll probably release the results the day before the season starts.

So why get frustrated about not being able to submit when they, for better or worse, have said exactly when the window is?

Some people just like to complain..?

Typically we have been given 2 months to submit bear apps and 3 months to submit multi-season. I am one of those that usually submits my apps the first day the window is open. That said, they aren't pushing back the deadline, or results, they are just pushing back the day you can begin submitting apps, and they have been upfront about the date for at least a month now. We will still have two weeks to submit bear apps and a month and a half to do the multi-season apps. If you can't get it done in those timeframes, then we've got bigger issues here.  :chuckle:

Fair enough!

Just think how many fewer gag threads about the draw we will have.  :chuckle: A plus side to everything my friend.

You want to apply the last minute anyway, you have a better chance with your numbers on top of the pile!
