Just put my first 1911 on layaway
« on: January 22, 2017, 09:54:53 AM »
Was at Cabela's yesterday in the gun library and found a used but in great shape Sig Sauer 1911 Tacops Threaded Barrel for $710. It looks like a safe queen. No marks, barrel in great shape. I've wanted a 1911 for a long time so I put $200 down and will pick it up in a few weeks. I can't wait to run some rounds through it.

That sounds like a great deal and I'd say you have exceptional taste.  Of course I may just be saying that because I have the exact same gun, too.

Since it's threaded are you going to run it suppressed???

If I have an extra few hundred bucks laying around maybe someday but a can really isn't high on my list just yet. But it would be cool to have.

Yeahhhhh, I used to say that too, then I shot a friends suppressed and it's been nothing but expensive ever since.

Doesn't change the fact you got a great deal on a very nice gun, I'm sure you'll enjoy it for many years.
