There is a charter ferry that goes out there, maybe if we had enough people we could get a deal for the weekend.

Lokidog has the contact info.

It would still be $30 or more per person,I think, even with a group. Boat pooling would be cheapest and no worries on meeting the shuttle schedule.

The toughest part is parking at Skyline Marina.

People could also ferry to Lopez island and us with boats could go pick them up.

Yes, Hunter Bay dock would be the closest (3 1/4 miles). However, parking could be a hassle there that time of year as well, plus the expense of the ferry is not cheap.

30$ or not. Sounds like an adventure. Tired of Fishstiq's chickens, unlimited beer supply (which I must add me and elk247 almost finished one year), good for nothing 60+ yard archery range, and huge guest bedroom... Cant wait to NOT go back there.   :chuckle:  All jokes aside, we love you man for hosting the previous years BBQ's. Unfortunately for you it is time to pass on the torch :chuckle: . I think Ed can handle us this year. Hopefully one year in the near future me and SG will be able to host it for yall. But dont expect too much hospitality. Maybe just a reliable shtter, and some land to be crazy on. Were pretty rural so extreme belligerentness and idiocy would be accepted, as long as its kept in the yard with the goats.

I am not opposed to golf, for I suspect it keeps armies of the unworthy from discovering deer.

I would be down. I don't know what my job situation would be but I would make sure to have the time off. I don't have my own boat currently but am an experienced sailor, and have plenty of crab pots I could bring and some fishing gear as well. Plus some camping gear. I might have a friend that would let me borrow their boat but no guarantee on that. I really like this idea though. You can count me in.

Would this be weather dependent at all?  If the crossing gets nasty, folks might have to be prepared to hang out on the island a while until the "shuttles" can get them home....  I don't know if that's a concern at all or not?

How far is the swim from the mainland?  :dunno:  :chuckle: or I can start to practice my hitchhiking thumb

better option would be to take a state ferry to Lopez island, then you only need to swim 1000'

Beginning of August?  I can pretty much bet my bank account that it will be warm and dry, and likely calm....   ;)

Better take your HuntWa sticker off the back of your truck or you will be turned around at the ferry landing.   :chuckle:

Well, this summer has been a lot busier than exzpected.  I've had too much going on to even think about getting this organized and realized that the summer is already flying by.   :(

I'd still like to do this some time, maybe next year.
