My new "used" 12 GA for Turkey
« on: January 27, 2017, 07:26:09 PM »
Just picked up this old Ted Williams 12 GA for a steal @ $125.00 today marked down from $199.99 from my local Double Eagle Pawn here in Spokane. This came with an adjustable choke as well. From what I was told this is pretty much the same shotgun as a Winchester 1200.

Questions:
1) Anyone own one and have any opinions?
2) In only a 2 3/4 chambering with it set on "full choke", can I get 35-40 yards out of this old 70s classic.
THANKS FOR THE HELP EVERYONE.

The only way to find your maximum effective range is to pattern it.

Lol, I am aware of that already. I meant for the ones with experience using this particular shotgun and choke set up before and if they have gotten a good pattern that far out.

I had the Win 1400 which is the semi-auto version of it.  Used it for slightly over 20 years.  Good gun.

I have the exact same gun without the poli-choke, old Ted Williams same shotgun as a Winchester 1200, But I paid the $200, it was a full choke but I had it punched out to L-MOD.  No issues with the gun at all after 2 hundred rounds down the tube by me. FYI Numrich Arms has parts for this gun if you ever need them.
