Tasco scope 6-24x42mm target/varmit
« on: February 16, 2009, 03:30:39 PM »
Hey guys, Have any or you ever used tasco scopes? Are they any good? What about the tasco 6-24x42 with mildot reticle? How do you think it would work on my 204 ruger for yotes and other varmits? Thanks :)

Good rule of thumb: You Get What You Pay For..........

If you buy a cheap scope than you get a cheap scope , if you pay a higher Price, than you will get a better quality product.

I have a cheap Tasco and cheap Simons. they are what i payed for them. I now save my Penny's to buy more a quality item.

I have a tasco 6-24 by 42mm. Its functional at best. I have it on a savage 110 in 243. Its my mountain biking yote gun.

they don't call em trashco's for nothin... might be ok for a mid range quality pellet gun.

I havn't had any problems at all. Its pretty fuzzy on 24 power, but i never use it that high. I just bought a 50$ BSA in a 3x9. I'm hunting yotes in the brush on the west side and it has cost me some shots at close dogs because of the 6x is as low as it goes. If your going to use to long range it will be fine. But You get what u pay for. :) :)

For nearly the same money take a look at the Mueller APV, No mill dot but pretty nice glass.  Pentax makes some pretty nice glass for reasonable.  Nikon ProStaff gets some nice reviews.  Even the 6x18 Bushnell Banner gets some good words.  I had one old Tasco WC that would change POI when the power was changed.  I did have a late 60's Tasco 6x18 Target scope that looked like a Unertl or Lyman Targetspot clone that was a pretty nice piece, used it on my 03 Springfieldt target rifle for a number of years.

After the first shot the rest are just noise.
