Onxmaps question?
« on: January 29, 2017, 07:51:09 AM »
Hello everyone, I'm thinking about getting an OnXmap set up for my computer / phone . I was trying to figure out do they show the Gmu boundaries as well? Being a new adult hunter the regulations are enough to confuse the $hit out of you .To  those that have the set up do you like it ? Pros vs Cons? Thanks Jason

It displays the gmu boundaries quite well. Here are a couple pictures.

Best and must have. Shows you all the gmu, trails, landowner boundaries, pretty much everything. Have this on my iPhone and gps. Best is you can buy the northwest package and you will get Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Or you can buy individual states. Gives the landowners contact info if you need to contact them to  ask for permission to access there land. Hands down a game changer.

I do. For $30/yr it's a no brainer. I had a second deer tag this year in an area where I had to know multiple property boundaries; it worked flawlessly.
The only downside is that it needs service, unless you download the offline maps. I haven't figured that out just yet.

Love it for my iPhone. Download and test your saved maps before going into an area with no service. Works awesome.

I have it in my Garmin 650. It's good to have when you are scouting new area's to hunt. I like the download version so if you want to buy another one for another unit it is much cheaper the second, third, etc time.

We bought the kid a GPS for Xmas. He's getting the xmap chip today for $100 at sportsman warehouse. He's excited. We used his friends GPS this past year. Worked great. Within 20 feet of boundaries.

Just buy it, it is the single best thing to improve your hunting I could think of.  Just about all of the last 3 years of animals I have shot have been on small chunks of public that would appear to be private or not accessible unless you know exactly where you are at.
