Does anyone know anything about camel hair?

So my grandfather thanked down his camel hair coat to me, it's awesome and I love it, I was wondering if it's and city garment only or it fits durable enough to be worn in the woods and such?

I don't suppose anyone might have some insight? I've googled and googled and there's plenty of info about camel hair coats, except on how durable they are lol.
