Looking at getting a dog again
« on: February 03, 2017, 01:03:20 PM »
My family is interested in getting a golden retriever sometime maybe this year. Tell me what you know about them including the pros and cons and any training that is specifically required for that breed in particular.

We've had two dogs before, a golden (house dog) and a black lab (great hunting pal, but a little rambunctious)

We're looking into getting it as a hunting dog, for me to train. Any tips would be appreciated.

I do know there are a lot common heath issues that if not tested for can rear their ugly head. I'd screen breeders very carfully and get as educated as possible on health issues.
