Tv sound bars
« on: February 11, 2017, 02:26:12 PM »
What do you guys have, and what do you suggest? I don't really want to spend more than 200 or 250 but don't want something cheap or with poor sound.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/vizio-5-1-channel-soundbar-system-with-bluetooth-and-6-wireless-subwoofer-black/8761077.p?skuId=8761077

We have this one, it's listed at Best Buy for 299.00 but I have seen them online for as low as 235.00. In my opinion and in the 2-300$ range , Vizio is by far the best quality sound. I have friends that returned their Sony's and LG's after hearing mine.  :twocents:

Have a Samsung bar w/ wireless sub.  Works good.  What bothers me is the input volumes are not the same on DISH vs internet vs dvr.  Also the tv sound isn't synced with sound bars and I cant adjust it to synce so its an echo effect.  Is this common?

Do the wireless subs work well? How far away do you have them?

Sub works good.  Its plenty loud.  I will say if you want a booming loud system a sound bar and sub isn't it.  Its loud but reasonable.  Maybe the 1000w systems would be louder.  I used to run tv through home stereo component 5 speaker system from the 90's and that was LOUD!  Better too.  But I like, the clean small sound bar and no need for entertainment centers!!

I don't need loud or theatre replicating sound, just better than what the flat panel tvs offer. My concern is the connectivity of a wireless sub of it gets far away

Our wireless sub and speakers are currently about 15' from the sound bar which I think was the suggested max. We haven't had any issues with connection and the sound is great overall. It has capability to go louder than we've ever desired and we have 2 boys under 5.  :chuckle:

Also, like mudman eluded too, I wouldn't say it is a picture rattling stereo system. It just adds a nice full sound to the entire room.

You can feel the Bose in your chest if you want! It works best when you mute the TV sound! :twocents:

Thanks for all the info, while at Costco again today we saw a Vizio 38" I think it was with sub for 179 so we figured we would try it. It's perfect, got our directv remote to work it so it's all tied in, sure makes a difference!  Thanks again for all the input.

Turn off the TV sound when running an AV System or Sound bar. This will get rid of the timing issue.

I run a VIZIO SB3851-C0 38-Inch 5.1 Channel Sound Bar with Wireless Subwoofer and Satellite Speakers - got it on sale at Amazon for $220.
This one works great for our master bedroom.

And a Denon AVR-X2300W 7.2 Channel Full 4K Ultra HD AV Receiver with Bluetooth. With an Infinity TSS 800 speaker System.
This is in the living room. Obviously much better sound then the sound bar.

If you do not want all the AV Home Theater setup or cost, a sound bar is great way to go.

If you have an Amazon account, go select the one you want and put it in your cart, and let it sit there awhile. You should start getting adverts when they drop the price. That is how I got sound bar for $220 when it was going for over $300 then.

He trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle.
