Spring Bear
« on: February 12, 2017, 07:42:07 PM »
For spring Bear Hunt, do you have to pick a GMU with the application? I bought my Spring Bear hunt application but it did not let me pick a GMU. Does any one know of good GMU for spring Bear. I'm new to the spring bear hunt's. I have a few areas in mind which are Blue creek and Lick creek. I hunt elk up in lick creek unit and there are a lot of bear wasn't sure if there are better areas.

The unit is specific to spring bear ,  not a gmu. It's a draw as mentioned  and not a gimme hunt. You bought your tag, buy a permit  application then when able, put in your hunt unit choice .  If you draw, go hunt

East side permits are by GMU. Most if not all west side permits are for a specific area inside GMU's.

Please stick with what you know...it's frustrating enough seeing only 50% or less of the tags getting hunted...

Odds are fairly good. I got selected last year being my first time putting in for Spring bear. Good luck.
