Camera made for hunting season ?
« on: February 17, 2009, 05:14:20 PM »
I've been wanting to get a camera to take pictures during hunting season but not sure what to get. All I know is our current one is noisy. Do they make them silent or close to it ? I archery hunt & both animals were like 20 yards away & i don't want to scare other animals. I've never seen any that advertise " for the hunter". I saw my first bear & bobcat last year and wish I had pics. I've looked at some & determined 8 or 10 mega pixel is good, & maybe 10x. Any ideas for a good model ? Don't want to spend to much as will be lugged around. Thanks for any input. Mike

I looked over those links and I don't know crap of what he is talking about. I just wanted to know a good point & shoot model that doesn't scare wildlife. Thanks though. Mike

Canon Powershot S2 IS is cheap and works good for me.

Looks like the Canon Powershot G10 is the ticket

I don't know what the price is on that camera or how big it is, I'm guessing that the G10 would denote 10 MP's.  That would be good.  I just got ahold of a Sony DSC W150 it's only a 8.1 MP and 5X but it take really good quality pic's and isn't much bigger than a pack of smokes.  It would be a great ziplock baggie pocket camera.  Has automatic, point and shoot setting that does better than my Cannon S80.  Just another idea to look at.

I think the G10 is 14 megapixels.
