Just talked to wdfw in Olympian for 15 minutes. They informed me that the first draw was done incorrectly leaving out 4 people as trophy hunt had said yesterday. They ran my wild Id number and indeed I was selected the first draw. But since they screwed up and forgot to add 4 people to the draw they took it away and completely re ran the draw. They apologized multiple times and the lady said that the system was working perfect up till the first draw.  She said there is no compensation what so ever for their mistake. Again, I do agree that the draw needs to include everyone to be fair. I am just truly disappointed in the WDFW for allowing this problem to happen in the first place. In no way shape or form should their results be posted to the public until the draw is done right. So after its all said and done I was selected than not selected and now WDFW is not doing a thing to make it right.
I suggest in the future you wait until receiving confirmation from WDFW the results are confirmed and posted; don't log in and keep checking in anticipation of potential results.  I don't understand why you think you deserve "compensation" from WDFW...if you guys keep whining to Olympia my guess is they will prolong the posting of draw results for substantially longer than they currently do.

Just be glad it's just a bear tag. Last redraw a guy I worked with drew sheep and lost it to the redraw. He never drew again, retired and is dead now. Hopefully this story makes you feel better  :chuckle:

Seriously?? Im not even to begin to reason with you.  Obviously you dont give a darn because it didnt happpn to you. It shouldnt make a difference if you check early or not. Plain and simple none if these draws should be released to public until they are finalized!!!!!

Most of the time what people are calling a "redraw" is not actually that at all. It would only be a redraw if the WDFW notified the public that the draw was complete and that the results are posted, and then later said oops we made a mistake, we're doing the draw over. There's no reason to expect any kind of compensation, or even an apology, from the WDFW. They did nothing wrong. I do agree it would have been nice to have it done a little sooner but with an entirely new system this year I'd give them a break on that.

We are all just bitter because we didn't get drawn.   :chuckle:

I predict this will make 50 pages before August 1st

Bum deal but I guess it just wasn't meant to be this season. The draws definitely should not be posted at all until they're 100% finalized. Which is ridiculous because you'd think it would've been in their best interest to not post them until they made sure they were right so they could avoid the crap storm and lack of trust from the public. Such a joke. There's gotta be 10x as many guys hitting the refresh button every minute for the main draw, think if this had happened then (or when it does). No reason to post them until they're triple checked.

I would if the results were considered official; I don't know when that occurred. It was evident that testing was being done throughout the afternoon, so results observed then wouldn't have any validity.

I got my notification email at 7:40 last night.

Frankly, I'm glad to hear WDFW had the integrity to correct the mistake.  How easy would it have been for them to just ignore the 4 applicants (out of ~4,000) who were not included?  I'm glad to hear they don't consider the draw done until they know for certain every last person who applied got a fair shake.

It seems like an easy solution would be for WDFW to post a banner on the website indicating that "Testing of draw results is in process. During this time the results displayed are for testing purposes only and should not be considered official. When testing is complete and results are final, a notification will be posted."

Or simply temporarily take the site offline for testing.

It is unfortunate that some saw preliminary results that indicated they were selected.

That would be so easy and logical that you can guarantee they will never do it lol.
