Idaho elk?
« on: March 01, 2017, 06:48:00 PM »
Been interested in hunting Idaho for sone time.  Isn't everybody?  Since I didn't draw WY this year, I feel it's a good year to make a run at it, with hopes of making it a yearly trip with what years I have left.  Anybody with a little knowledge of areas looking for a partner?  Willing to do any weapon.  If I have to go alone, I'm prepared to do that.  Past my prime for packing in, but don't want to get run over by atv's.  Looking at draw units, but prepared to go where I have to to hunt.  Good luck to those that did draw WY.
Economy failure = Too many people spending money they don't have on things they don't need to impress people they don't like.

I hunted unit 32 last year for the first time, OTC tags. Any bull, my Dad drew cow tag first time.  Lots of hunters start high up and seem to push the elk down.  Took us 10 days to find a small herd of cows and some spikes mainly because we started high when we should have started lower.  My 2 point and my dads cow were taken 400 yards apart on different days only 1/2 mile from the blacktop road.  Both taken out whole and I was able to back my truck up to load mine.  We scouted during the summer but it was so freaking hot there was no animals to be seen.
