Illuminated Reticles

Just out of curiosity, are illuminated reticles illegal for hunting use in Washington? Looked in the regs but couldnt find anything stating otherwise..

No, they're not illegal.

You can use about anything as long as it doesn't project onto the target.

Now then, get your equipment—your quiver and bow—and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.  Gen. 27:3

Illuminated reticles, red dots, etc. are legal.   Projecting a beam onto the target is not legal for deer & elk; presumably it is legal for everything else.

See WAC 232-12-045

Hunting equipment restrictions.
(1) It is unlawful to hunt deer or elk with the aid of infrared night vision equipment or with laser sights (not to include range finders) capable of projecting a beam onto the target, while in possession or control of a firearm, bow and arrow, or crossbow.
(2) It is unlawful to use radio-telemetry equipment to locate and hunt wildlife with transmitters attached to them.

Alright awesome thank you everyone! I looked and looked through the refs before purchasing one last year for my rifle, and then a few days ago had someone in a gun shop telling me they were illegal to use for hunting, so just thought I should double check! Thanks for all the responses, glad to know there wasn't anything I missed in the regs!
