Camber/Alignment issue-FJ40

 1976 Toyota Land Cruiser,  passenger-side only, RF wheel/Tire  has a positive camber.
 Is this a fixable issue or is it a rebuild replace thing?
 Anybody work on this before? @coachcw ?

I will check out the ih8mud deal.   Some of the info I've been reading says it could be a bent axle,  some say it's not adjustable,  some say it is adjustable..... :dunno:

I'm not an alignment guy but I also don't know how it could be adjustable.  I'll ask a couple guys in the shop here and see what they know.

The bearings can go out at the steering knuckle (actually a bearing, not a ball joint). They are like a wheel bearing. They do wear out because they are normally sitting in one position all their life.  I believe there are also shims avail to adjust the spindle off of the axle

I have 2 FJ40s  1971, and 1976...........need parts?

SPC catalog, page 106 shows bearings with pre-ground offsets

The right side is the short side of the axle.  I wouldn't think the housing would be bent there.

Also, it is ALMOST the same as a pickup solid front axle.

I think the bearings you're talking about are trunnion bearings.

I think the bearings you're talking about are trunnion bearings.

Yes, trunnion bearings.  Sometimes they need to cut and turn the knuckles if the caster is way off after a lift.  I like the Toyota trunnion bearings over the "chinese" ones.  The angles are different.

I have a 80 series. And yes worn trunnion bearing can do this. I believe there are offset bearings if I'm not mistaken I have heard of offset trunnion bearings but he never seen them. You might as well do the full knuckle rebuild and repack along with a new axle seal while your in there.

If anything else, do join ih8mud. Best resource for any landcruiser owner to utilize.

Go to mud and everything Landcruiser can be answered there.  I agree with SN might as well do the front end service and be happy you don't have a PHH.
