Tacoma or Gig Harbor Sportsman's Club?
« on: February 13, 2017, 12:45:33 PM »

We have a place in the UP/Fircrest/ Tacoma Narrows area and are trying to decide between the Tacoma Sportsmen's Club and Gig Harbor Sportsman's Club. Looking for pro's & con's and such. Gig Harbor is actually closer, but not so much so that TSC is out of the question. Your recommendations are appreciated!
I am interested in the social/camaraderie aspect as much as the use of the club & facilities. I am an avid rifle hunter (elk & deer mainly), enjoy shooting pistols on occasion and my wife and I are both trying to get into grouse hunting and archery (hunting and recreational shooting). I also love fly fish and she ties flies. We are both VERY concerned with conservation issues and are heavily involved. (I am helping to start the Backcountry Hunters & Anglers Chapter in Florida).
Thanks in advance for the recommendations! I only ask that if you have a vote for one over the other, please give me a reason why. Thanks!
Markus

I go to Tacoma. It's cool there basically all I need is a close range to go shoot here and there. Nice range masters, and a nice new members only pistol range. Every time you go across the bridge it's like 6 bucks I think. So if you go 20 times a year that's an extra 120 bucks. Tacoma closes at 4pm which sucks. Wish they would stay open later in the summer months.

I'm a member there, nice place with very low traffic. It's been a firing range longer than Washington has been a state. ;)
The things that come to those who wait, may be the things left by those who got there first!
