What kind of a 9 volt battery is it? And where did you buy it? Many smaller stores have older batteries that have lost alot of their charge.

Are you turning off the lcd screen when you set it?  That will save some power.

I think he has a homebrewed trailcam.  The 9v would run the control board.  I believe the lcd would run off of the camera battery.

I just checked my camera thats been out a month. Only one deer pic.  But I left it out. Its still using the original 9volt battery.  During testing the camera took about 600 pics. No problems with the 9volt yet.

Don't no much about these cams you all are building, but things i work on use batteries and if it's a bad batt. it will die as soon as it gets cold.  Or you have a wiring issue causing a draw in the syst. IE: bad connections/loose or broken, check to see all your connections are good, then install a new batt. not a camera tech.just my 2 :twocents:
Work sucks!!!! I should be shed hunting

If you take a 9v battery apart, it has a pack of 6 (if I recall) AAAA cells inside. They run nominally at 7.2 volts to 9 volts. You have a couple options if your willing to go the homebrew route. Typically rechargeable batteries run at 1.2 volts and fresh normal ones at 1.5. Go to a junk shop and cannibalize an old radio or other device that uses 6 AA batteries or visit Frys, radio shack or someplace similar. Modern rechargeable hold a lot of power, like 2500 mah. That should at least triple if not quadruple your battery life. Visit a RC hobby shop if you need more power, they sell everything you need to build and charge your own custom battery packs. =) Feel free to message me if you need help.

You can always hook 2 9 volt batteries in parallel. This will last longer. I sent an IM to Mark at Yeticam and he says that even with more current the controller board will only use what it needs.

I think I remember there being an issue with the 9volt battery holder. I think it had something to do with the switch. If you are still having issues you may want to try a different holder and see if that helps.
