Alpen Binoculars

Anybody on here have any experience with them? seem like they are pretty reasonably priced but hows the quality

I bought a pair a couple of years ago, glass seems decent. Both of the eye pieces on mine have broken, and no longer adjust, they just kind of flop around, which makes it difficult to use them. I haven't done anything about warranty, so not sure about how that is or not. When I first got them they seemed good for the price I paid

I bought a pair about 2 years ago. Shasta ridge 10x42. been very happy with them.

I use an Alpen 20x60x80 spotting scope and it replaced a Nikon 15x45.    I needed to see bullet holes in the black on rainy, early mornings.   I bought the Alpen because of it's resolution and ability to see small objects at a set distance.   What I needed for the bullet holes was to determine which side of the scoring ring they were on and, if necessary, what sight correction was needed.

I have had a pair of 10x42 binos for about 10 years.  My first pair started fogging up in one of the ocular at about 4 years of use.  I sent them in for warranty and received a brand new pair in about three weeks. I have been using that pair ever since, I am not easy on equipment and have been happy with their optics.  I am not real familiar with what good glass looks like but Alpen meets my needs.  I also have the same spotting scope as above but have not had a chance to use it very much yet.

Contact them about your eyepieces, I had an issue where the twistup eyecups weren't working properly anymore, sent them in and received a brand new pair

I have a set of the low end 10x42 alpen binos, I will probably be upgrading next year and I'm strongly considering the alpen Teton ed/hd line, price is right in line with vortex vipers but I haven't fully bought into the vortex hype machine so I'll stick with alpen. As stated in my previous post they stand behind their lifetime warranties and with the quality of glass their lower end products have I'd love to see the higher quality stuff
