Its an old Interarms Mark X, Whitworth action. squared and trued , douglas air gauge barrel, timney trigger. I have never cared much for the syn. stock the builder used. The stock must be synhthetic. I really wanted a compare between the B&C and McMillan, "is the McMillan worth $200.00 more than the B&C?

Yes x2.
I have McMillan's , HS Precision's , Manners and a B&C. The B&C does not compare to any of the others.

Carl, what style of stock does Mcmillan offer as a drop in for your action? As you probably know, there are sporter, tactical and hybrid styles. Some are great for general purpose hunting while others are best suited for range and target use. I have a few Mcmillan stocks and can offer you my opinions on what might work best for your intended use. Send me a PM if you'd like. Ron

Check out Grayboe Stocks.  Made by McMillan or started by a former employee of McMillan, I have heard they are very good and cost $300-400.

I want a sporter stock. OK here is the deal. A friend, a very close friend built this rifle for me in 1972. It shoots like crazy but more, its got Karma. All my biggest Bulls, Bucks and Bear, tons of coyotes have fallen to this rifle, Its been to Canada, Alaska, Montana, Idaho, Utah, Oregon, Wyoming and Colorado. Kills everything I point it at.
That said I have always disliked the stock, I had it bedded twice ( shoots real well now) but it is ugly and very flexible and noisy.
So I think I'll buy the McMillan and see what I can do with this Old Girl.

I don't really think the McMillans are that much better than the B&C in most applications. I can't think of a single gun I've owned would have shot better if it had been in a McMillan stock. If the McMillan has a specific feature or style that the B&C doesn't then it may be better, but if you can find a B&C that you like I'd go for it and never look back.
