UTG Scope deal
« on: March 22, 2017, 08:16:50 AM »
Anyone have any experience with the UTG Bugbuster?   I know it isn't a high end scope but it has pretty good reviews and these prices are are ridiculous:

@marianigp had one for sale on here a while back that I was thinking about buying from him for a .22 I have. I didn't end up buying it, but I wonder if he has any input on them.

Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

I ordered 3, what have I got to loose?  It's Amazon, if they don't work out I'll send them back.

Maybe I'll put one on my muzzle loader.

They're nice scopes for the money and for a .22, that's what I had mine on, a 10/22.
They are heavy and there's not much tube there so your back and forth adjustments are non-existant.
I had to use offset AR rings like the Nikon P series 2 piece rings and they were at the far rear of the picatinny rail in order to get the eye relief I wanted.
The illumated crosshairs work but I never cared for lighted crosshairs anyway.

Main concerns: wieght and eye relief.

For a casual plinker and at that price, you can go wrong.
my 2 cents

The description starts with "BEWARE OF COUNTERFEIT PRODUCTS SHIPPED DIRECTLY FROM CHINA". I guess someone is selling fake UTG scopes directly from China. But you can give it a try, if it's fake then request full refund and keep the scope.

Appears to be a scam.  A 3rd party seller lists too good to be true prices on a number of items then never ships them.  I’d expect Amazon to check them out better.  They need some extreme vetting.
