Trout update and competition
« on: March 23, 2017, 08:00:38 PM »
Well, it's great to be home again after a 10 month deployment overseas! I missed out an awful lot last year including the fishing and hunting seasons  but most of all, watching my children grow. Not this year! It has been a long while since I have posted on this forum.  I am going to try and give regular updates on my family's fishing adventures and here is the first go 'round.

Over the last two weeks we have made it out around the Yakima valley and the scores are as follows:

Alexa (6yrs): 22 Rainbows (1 jumbo)
    13 caught on lemon lime power bait with garlic scent, 3-4 foot leader off the bottom; 9 ccaught on Kast master (silver with green stripe)

Alejandro (2yrs): 8 rainbows
    3 caught on lemon lime power bait with garlic scent, 3-4 foot leader off the bottom; 5 caught on red power bait, same setup as previous

Mom:: 11 rainbows
    All caught on lemon lime power bait with garlic scent, same setup as previous

Me: 4 rainbows (2 biggies, see pics below)
     All caught on Kast master, silver with green stripe

We are going to keep score this year and whoever catches the most gets a new rod/reel combo of their choice and a dinner of their choosing. I'll update after every trip.

You need to teach Alexa to long arm those fish.  :chuckle: She's gonna beat anyways.  :chuckle:

Yes, Alexa is very focused on kickin' my booty! She has had her rod/reel combo since she was about a year old and she has already picked new rod and reel. Don't count Alejandro out though, he will get his chance to catch up this weekend, Alexa has some obligations and won't be out this weekend.

Follow the link to see Alexa catch her first rainbow of the year!
