The WAG group has proven they are a total joke. The original plan has clearly not worked with having 17 packs out of 20 all piled up in one area of the state. The WAG group could change the plan and get this ridiculous problem fixed but have not. They are clearly outrageous wolf lovers that have no concern for the people being affected with this overpopulation problem. Why would anybody want to go give public comments after so many community meetings have already taken place but the severely affected areas were not listened to. It appears the frustrated rural folks are just dealing with it themselves cautiously but effectively.
Here's the petition that the pro wolf crowd is passing around.
I think it was Wolfbait that had it right "Washington Dept of Fish & Wolves"!
Did we all forget this Dr. Weigus was caught lying about the rancher turning out on a wolf den. It was more than two miles from the den but he lied to get his wolf hugger friends in an uproar. WSU made a statement denying support for his statements. As I remember he also made some outlandish statements a couple years ago about how killing cougars actually created more problem cougars. He's clearly not very informed about wildlife but uses his position as a professor to try and convince people of his invented theories. Why would he be given any more time at a meeting than anybody else. In fact he's proven he's a liar so why even let him speak?
@jackalopeI hope your friend reports on the meeting despite most people's unhappiness with the departments in/action on wolves.IYour friend obviously cares enough about hunting to volunteer by going to the meeting and studying the issue. I would implore him to go the next step by helping to put forth an unfiltered version of the meeting. Hunters are not organized, but the first step is education and disseminating the information. I had a club member on the same advisory committee. He was frustrated at the department and many peoples reponces on here. Many people take the feedback too personal, and a lot is lost in translation in most people's writing.Fact is that we NEED this information published, and we also need to get organised and I feel they go hand in hand. Tell your friend Thank You for volunteering from me and all of us.
With the lack of support on here, I doubt my friend will share any details from the meeting. Everybody is good with complaining on here, which is pretty much the same as peeing into the wind, but when it comes time for the rubber to meet the road....nobody's there.
@bearpaw you post is a good example of how a post can be taken the wrong way.Your not wrong in what you have said but the shot of negativity and assumption at the end on a bad note. Jackalope didn't say he wasn't going to report, but implied the negativity may be too much. Most of us (including myself) arnt word smiths or English majors. I am often frustrated when people pile on some one, or sound like it, when reporting on department meetings. Being able to accurately summarize and then write it in a detailed way takes time and practice to do well.Even if the department is pushing their line of B S its important to know what they are saying.
