Knee and elbow pads - Do you use them?
« on: June 20, 2017, 08:47:42 AM »
I know a lot of you have more recently been in the military and are used to using protection for your knees and elbows. Do any of you use these in the woods? I was going through the PX Online catalogue today and they're selling, in ACU (or Coyote), elbow pads for 21.95 and knee pads for 26.95 ea/not per pair. These are the HWI Next Gen Knee Pads.

My brother used a set of pants with knee pad pockets for his service business and loved them.    I think that is the only way I'd use them in a hunting situation. 2c

There are better deals online but with tax and shipping added, the PX seems a little better.

I haven't found any knee pads or elbow pads that go good with a skirt or a dress.  :chuckle: Actually I have thought about knee pads when hunting in the sage flats to try and keep all the goat heads and stickers out of my knees but never have.

Only when I am digging agates or I'm in the garden.  Not sure about hiking in them.  I'd have to go higher quality

I use knee pads when antelope hunting. After digging cactus spines out of body parts a few times, one usually learns and adapts.
Nature. It's cheaper than therapy.

These are about as high quality as you'll get.

I currently use some that I bought at Lowes. But the velcro straps cut into my legs before too long. These are supposed to be better for wearing all day while killing terrorists. They've likely dealt with that issue.
