Picked up a 69 camaro basket case. Some people shouldn't be allowed to work on cars.

Here is my 48 Chevy coupe I am slowly working on. The first picture is when I brought it home. It is primered black now as I stripped the 4 layers of paint as seen in the next pic. I have my Mustang II frontend mocked in. Need to modify the transmission crossmember to fit my Tremec TKO 600 Trans. Then I can drop in my 383 stroker (and yes I know the headers are on upside down that was so it would fit in the run stand)

This one is a base (coupe) camaro non RS or SS. It has a small block 350 horse 350 (verified by block stamp). It was a 3 speed auto car that is now a 4 speed manual. Whe I bought the car it was a "runner". However upon closer inspection there was so.much wrong that I have torn apart everything under the hood and basically am starting over. The carb that was on it was a Quadra jet that had no gasket and sucked vacuum through the base plate. The old exhaust manifold someone had taken the copper return lines chopped them off and peened them over. The exhaust was welded to the hangers one of which was welded to the gas tank. The radiator was fairly new but was for a 6 cylinder. When I yanked the radiator hoses off the upper neck of the water pump was almost rusted through. There Original core support was also rusted to the point that it was almost completely through.

I have (so far) replaced the intake with a performer, carburetor with a Holly brawler removed the old exhaust and replaced with Doug's ceramic coated headers. I went with a mini starter and a new aluminum water pump and 2 core champion radiator with electric fan. Polished aluminum pullies and a new one wire alternator. I bought an ADM replacement core support and battery tray.

About it for now. As we figured out the car was wrecked at some point and needs some attention in the frame department. Once the frame issue is taken care of we'll finish putting it back together and I'll (hopefully) be able to cruise it a little bit this summer. But once the rains hit and summer is over she will undergo a complete frame off restoration. I'm currently planning on keeping the outside stock however going to upgrade to 4 corner wildwood disc brakes and coil over suspension also plan to go to a Ford 9" with posi. Should be a modest improvement in how the car drives.

If you were in search of a Strange 9" third member with 4.10 gears and a detroit locker I happen to know where one is. I put 3.50 with a trutrac in my 9".

I'm thinking J1772 charging next, now that the turn signals are in.  Extend my range, tap some free watt hours.

Not a "Hot Rod" but it's my classic car restoration project.
Be more concerned with your character than your reputation. Your character is who you actually are while your reputation is merely who others think you are.
