I have a QAD and Smackdown. Like the QAD more.  I'm not a fan of the limb cord.  :twocents:
You can tie the cord into the down cable instead of running it to the limb.

True. But you will have constant pressure on the cable. Not sure if I like the idea of that.
There's already constant pressure on the cable.

I think you made the best decision.  Not that I am not happy with my Trophy Taker, but the QAD seems to be just a bit better if those who have "tried everything" are to be believed.

I will be getting the ripcord ace micro adjust this coming year. It will make broadhead tuning that much better being able to use the microadjust feature. Amazon has it for around $120.

:yeah: I have the ripcord code red now and want to upgrade to the ace. The ripcord rest has been a good rest for me.

I just installed a qad hdx on my bow yesterday. It replaced a smackdown.
Got a handful of shots with t and am really liking it. It took literally 5 minutes to install and tune. It is noticeably quieter on the shot than my smackdown was.

I had the WB. Swore by it till i tried the QAD. It does the same thing but wont touch your arrow. The problem with a WB is its touching your arrow for such a long time that you move around and tend to throw the arrow off course. Does that make sense???

What's the difference between the HDX and LD? I assume size and weight but can't find that on their website

The internals are exactly the same and they work the same. Both have the lockdown feature, and both stay up if you let down. The difference is the HDX has the curved capture bar for more vane clearance, and a setscrew in the thumbwheel for micro adjusting the cord. The LD has a longer mounting bar. The micro adjust for the HDX cord is nice and why I pay a little more for it. But if on a budget the LD is a great option. I shot one for years without issues.

Exactly what I was looking for, thanks for the info!

Just picked up my new Reign 7 a few weeks ago. Put a ripcord on it and sent it back. Good rest but it was not 100% reliable. Could be I just got a bad one, but was tired of 'flyers' for no reason. Discovered it was the rest after someone did a slo mo video for me...and no amount of adjusting prevented it.  I replaced it with HAMSKEA Hunter Pro....WOW, what a difference. Love the wider rest, quiet and contained. And..the HAMSKEA is tied to the limb, not the cable.  One other thing about the Ripcord...it has a red felt, sometimes black on the rest. I was getting a fuzzy build up, which in time amounted to a glob of fuzzy stuff and affected performance. The fuzzy stuff was coming from the target, adhearing to the carbon shafts and was not noticeable till it built up. HAMSKEA is not doing that either. Just my 2cents.
