Remington sendero .243
« on: February 20, 2009, 09:35:06 PM »
just a question. i have a buddy that wants to trade me rifle for 2 pontoon boats that i have never used and are still in the box.   my buddy offering it to me is a really nice guy and seems to know his stuff. i just don't know anything about this model of gun

the gun is and i quote
" would you be willing to trade toons for a 243 Remington sendero w/28 in bullnose barrel, synthetic stock, all in brand new condition, shot very few rounds there it & have a new 8x16 leupold vxll for it w/ scope extension to cut down on glare & butler creek flip open scope covers, sling & bipod which extends to 30in" and  " ..also have a brand new sks hard 2-gun case, handle, wheels & airport approved"

i obviously don't know crap about rifles. i own a couple of tikka t-3's and a small herd of old savage model 99's. i am just a simple deer hunter. :)

can  anyone please give me some input on this gun. and what you think it is worth.

thank you very much

that is one pretty soundin varmint killer and would be one helluva good deer gun too, may be a little heavy to lug around but itll make up for it in accuracy

That is actually a Remington VS.  I don't think the .243 was a cataloged item in this rifle?  If the barrel is 28", it is custom.  The VS, Sendero, VSSF, VLS, etc all came standard with 26" pipes.   Private sale on this package would be $1000 - 1100.  Pick it up, I have owned all of the above in .300 win, 243, 22-250, and .308 - they all shot very well.

p.s. If barrel is custom, you might check on barrel maker, twist, and chamber.  Could add a little value to the package if it has a premium barrel.  It does look like the standard barrel, though.
